The Kansai Special 1404 is a flatbed multi-needle chainstitch machine used for waistbands, plackets and decorative multi-needle rows, and it is the workhorse of that operation in Indian units. Multi-needle work is unforgiving of worn gauge parts, so the list that moves is needle bars, gauge sets, eye guards, oil pumps and the loopers and needle plates matched to each needle spacing.
