Pegasus Sewing Machine Mfg. Co., Ltd. is a historic Japanese manufacturer that has earned a legendary reputation in the textile industry for its singular dedication to overlock and interlock (coverstitch) sewing machines. The company's roots go all the way back to 1914 when Daijiro Mima founded the Mima Sewing Machine Shokai in Osaka, Japan. A true pioneer of the industry, the company successfully produced Japan's first domestically manufactured overlock machine.
Over a century later, Pegasus remains headquartered in Osaka but operates as a global force, with expansive manufacturing facilities and sales networks spanning Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Because Pegasus has chosen to intensely focus its research and development on chainstitching technologies—rather than producing a generalized catalog of every machine type—they have achieved a level of mechanical mastery in the overlock and interlock categories that very few brands can match.
